Beta-carotene--- a strange exist

Beta carotene is an antioxidant that converts to vitamin A and plays a very important role in health. It is responsible for the red, yellow, and orange coloration of some fruits and veggetables.

The name is derived from the Latin word for carrot. It was discovered first time by the scientist H. Wackenroder, who crystallized it from carrots in 1831.


But acturally, there's no one fruit or vegetable that we could get enough beta carotene. Beta cartotene we bought and eat from market seldomly from carrot. As we know, some is naturally extracted from dunaliella salina, and some is not totally natural, it is bio fermented from blakeslea trispora, starch and sucrose. However, we still could get beta carotene easily from our diet, such as carrots, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, such as kale and spinach, sguash, red and yellow peppers, etc. Eat colorful veggeis is a very good choice to get beta carotene, but if you want to treat your disease, you'd beter to choose extracted way.
